Yeah, I guess so, usually, eh? I thought I was in the habit of posting regularly. That was the rut. I guess I got out of that one and into a new rut, where I don’t post regularly. But hopfuly I’m back in the previous rut now.

The best thing to do is to look at other scriptures around the scripture you are trying to understand and to look at other scriptures as well in the Bible if they apply.
John 1:18 says “No man has seen God at any time”
so we can conclude from this that Abraham was not visited by God himself.

Gen 18:22 and Gen 19:1 are the big clues to who these visitors are. Gen 18:22 says “At this point the men turned from there and got on their way to Sod′om; but as for Jehovah, he was still standing before Abraham.”
Gen 19:1 says “Now the two angels arrived at Sod′om by evening,…”

So the “men” were angels, and 19:1 says TWO of the three went to Sodom, which meant one stayed back to represent God to Abraham.

Hope that helps Shroomazoom, its really commendable that you meditate on things like this.

Umm… as I recall the budget was balanced by the liberals. 1997 or so? The huge debt is the fault of a variety of past governments, not the fault of one particular party. Trudeau rang it up. So did Mulroney. It was actually Chretien and Martin who brought an end to deficit spending. Only to return under Harper….

Ah, but then should we have paraphrased versions of the scripture, like the Message? And really, any English translation is not the way God gave it to us. It’s been translated, paraphrased, interpreted, etc. So what’s one more level to that, really?

That first point you’re thiking about is really interesting (graphs vs lists.) My first reaction was, “I’d like to see the charts and graphs.” My second thought is that God gave us Leviticus in the form of the written word, so that’s probably a sufficient way (or perhaps even the best way) to communicate its contents to is.
